  • This really shock me, with all the evidence proving he and his family was innocent they still pressured him to plaid guilty , and not even one person wanted to be on his side, the police, the judge, the media everyone wanted him to go down even tho he didn't do anything ... i'm angry right now .. fuck .. I really wish the best for the Heene's family in the future.

  • Now I don't personally have any contact with someone in journalism, but if someone does, this video (and a little extra research into the case) could make for the start of a very interesting article. It only takes one media company to start something and gain traction. Just saying.

  • This is proof that the Justice system can easily be fundamentally corrupt and part of the blame is on the news and internet. This is sad I should be able to watch the news and get the whole truth and not a lie that seems like the truth. News stations should not be allowed to cover a case until all fact either point to innocent or guilty. Fix the Justice system, fix the news.

  • I was reading about a book about the defense lawyer's experience defending Casey Anthony and I remember him talking about how the police department was ruthless in hyping the case with the media and using that hype. How police had little to no evidence but pushed the narrative that Casey Anthony was guilty and how the defense lawyer had to basically defend against the media and police tactics until Casey Anthony was proven to be not guilty.

  • One reform I'd like to see is that no conviction, no plea bargain, could be made, without evidence seen by a jury to confirm that a crime took place, that justifies the plea bargain in question.

  • Just getting to this in 2020... makes me wish we had listened to more stories like this before the U.S. justice system, police infrastructure became politicized and racialized. Yes, systemic racism is a huge problem and, perhaps, the worst problem in certain areas or police precincts. However, there is already a HUGE fucking problem with the way America polices itself beyond racial issues. There are thousands and thousands of terrible, emotionally disturbed and callous people who hold law enforcement positions. The nature of those jobs already attract a type of person who wants to be assertive or authoritarian. These kinds of personalities don't mesh well with conflict as they almost always exacerbate and escalate situations that could more easily be resolved with discussion or negotiation. Of course there are going to be times where force is necessary to keep citizen safe, but there are thousands of cases where dishonorable and aggressive police have ruined lives using false or flimsy justification. Often these fatal or ruinous tragedies stem from nonthreatening or benign situations where more balanced, better trained and more compassionate people would have resolved amicably. These kinds of things can also happen to anyone, regardless of race, gender, social standing or wealth. They most often happen to minorities, economically disadvantaged peoples, but these problems are universal just by the way these jobs are staffed, trained and managed. If policing hadn't become a racial issue, you'd most likely have nearly unanimous support from the public to reform the police and the criminal justice system. I'm still hopeful good can come from the current movement, but I am disheartened to see how many back actors have co'opted movements for their own agendas.

  • That bogus Wiki page is the only thing keeping those assholes out of jail and that's why I'm certain they are being pressured or just straight up bribed to keep it locked. Anyone that wants to look up this story will see that Wikipedia page first thing and will just assume it's true and move on. Not a single shred of evidence proving that he is guilty. Yet there are *legally* binding documents proving that the interviewers and prosecutors either lied or manipulated facts to have a case against him. Basically Wiki's argument is "those documents and videos were posted in a BGworld video so therefore they can't be trusted and are false" .
